Overview
I joined ezCater, a company specializing in corporate catering and workplace food, as a Senior Design Manager for the Supply Experience team. The team focuses on developing products to support our catering partners in growing their businesses and ensuring dependable order fulfillment through our platform. During significant change, I collaborated with our Content and Research managers to expand the design team from a solo product designer to seven members, including designers, UX researchers, and a content designer.
I had the privilege of working closely with our Supply team leads to develop strategies and achieve data-driven outcomes that would meet caterer needs and align with ezCater's objectives. I regularly shared our progress, wins, challenges, and learnings with executives and stakeholders.
Collaborating with design and cross-functional partners, we enhanced operational effectiveness by standardizing processes and documentation. I took the initiative to establish guidelines for using Figma and our design system, Recipe. Moreover, I introduced the adoption of JIRA and Confluence to manage our team's initiatives and provide clearer visibility into work streams for our cross-functional partners.
Additionally, I worked with UX researchers to plan qualitative and quantitative studies, using the findings to inform our product strategy and roadmap priorities and validate our designs. Together with the PMs, we enhanced our merchant tools and introduced new features, such as menu performance insights, merchandising data management, and the launch of our caterer DEI program.
As a leader, I made it a point to conduct cross-functional workshops, brainstorming sessions, and team retrospectives and coach other designers and PMs in planning and facilitating their collaborative sessions. It was important to me to support and empower my colleagues.
